Summary

Nobukhosi Shammah Mlupi is an 18-year-old member of the Million Voices club. She is doing her Advanced Level (ZIMSEC) at Luveve High School. Motivated to empower school leavers and drug-addicted young people, she joined the Million Voices club. The club seeks to eradicate substance abuse among young people and encourage youths to partake in programs that will improve their skills and groom their talent.

In her words

“My desire is to see a change in the society where young people take part in political spaces and implement change in the society. Gender-based violence destroys one’s future. It is not only the victims but the children also become traumatized. As a club, we have tried to raise awareness of gender-based violence. We have been having workshops at school to educate pupils on gender-based violence, as well as sharing call centres where they can have access to counselling sessions. The awareness program has helped many youths to open up on the negative effects of drugs and substance abuse.”
